Wicking Bed Workshop Saturday 20th April 2024

Right now there has been so much rain in Noosa shire, but it won’t be too long until things start to dry out again and gardeners will be back to watering their plants every day. This is where wicking beds come in, a simple method for storing water in a container bed which can self-water plants for many days or even weeks.

Come along to the Cooroy Community Gardens on Saturday 20th of April from 9am – 1pm, and listen and interact with Dr. Adam O’Toole, a soil scientist by profession, who will explain the principles behind wicking beds and demonstrate their workings on the wicking beds at the gardens. The workshop will be interactive where participants will get first-hand experience in how to convert a raised bed into a self-watering wicking bed.

The workshop is $25 to attend including morning tea, and free for Permaculture Noosa financial members and children under 18.

If you are thinking of becoming a Permaculture Noosa member or renewing your membership (which starts at only $25 / year ) you can do that at this link, which will give you free access to the workshop. Join or renew you membership to Permaculture Noosa.

Bookings for both members and non-members are essential. You must book to attend this workshop as numbers are limited.
