Happy New Year to all our members, friends and supporters!

2019 promises to be a very exciting year for us, and I hope it will be for you also. I have a wonderfully hardworking and enthusiastic team on our Permaculture Committee this year. I am continually amazed at how willing they are to take on extra tasks and activities to help grow Permaculture Noosa and make it inspiring for our members. Our monthly committee meeting was held this week, and we have a jam-packed agenda for the year – from open gardens and living bees to inspiring and informative guest speakers, and lots of events.

One very special event we have planned for June 9 is the Permaculture Noosa Festival to be held at our Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens. You’ll hear a lot more about it over the coming months, but for now, keep the date free!

Have you seen the online survey on our website and in this newsletter? We have been working with a team of consultants who want to help us develop and implement our strategic plan. They’ve asked us a ton of questions, but they would like to hear your perspective on where we are and where we should go. Your responses are completely anonymous and will in fact go to the consultants and not to the committee. If you haven’t yet completed our quick online survey, please do so – it will help us enormously. It closes at 5.00 pm this coming Friday 18 January.

I hope you were inspired by our Newsletter Editor’s gift suggestions in our December newsletter. Bill came up with some wonderful books. But if you’re still looking for that perfect birthday or other gift during the year, why not consider a membership to Permaculture Noosa? Our new payment system on the website is now operational, and we’ve done away with the old pro rata system of subscriptions. The day you sign up for membership is the date of your anniversary to renew, and you’ll be reminded by email 4 weeks before the due date – very simple and still very affordable. And we hope this year you’ll find so many good reasons to become members.

We always welcome your feedback. Permaculture Noosa is your organisation, and we want you to tell us if you’d like to hear talks on any particular subject or have an idea for a club night demonstration. Email me at president@permaculturenoosa.com.au– I’d love to hear from you, or come and have a chat at one of our club nights.

Wishing you a very successful permaculture year in 2019. And I look forward to seeing you at our club nights and our community permaculture gardens in Cooroy.

Best wishes,
Latha Matters
