After the heavy rains had swept across the Sunshine Coast our Garden Ambassadors asked, “Why does our garden look brown and weedy?” Upon closer inspection they realised that at the ends of those dry stems were hundreds of pods filled with thousands of valuable seeds! From that moment the race was on to have teams of seed collectors who would fill their buckets and pass them on to the chaff blowers who poured the clean seed to the origami envelope makers. Once the seeds were tucked in and secure they were finally handed over to our garden accountants who labelled and logged the seed bank for future fundraising and nursery work. By noticing that their vegetables were capturing and storing energy in the seed pods they were able to integrate rather than segregate their skills into a very adorable team that worked together like peas in a pod.
