Smiles about growing food where everywhere. The task for this Living Bee was to randomly plant seedlings into this smiling face straw bale garden.
A pattern was created for the students to copy. A beautiful bucket of worm castings was shared to tuck the small seedlings in and then we sprinkled loose straw around the plants to keep them moist. We watered the plants afterwards with some yummy liquid manure and molasses mixture.
The students had a tour of the garden and then happily went back to school.
Their next visit will be exciting, to see how much the plants grow in a week.
Thank you to the students and their carers for making gardening fun.
