In a ‘post Covid’ world where organic food and sustainable living are becoming increasingly desirable, Permaculture is enjoying a resurgence in popularity.

We would love you to have the opportunity to enjoy all the free information and benefits that Permaculture Noosa Membership provides.

Activities and Services offered by Permaculture Noosa

·           Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens (CCPG)

Our Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens provide a demonstration site for permaculture techniques, a venue for some of our workshops and demonstrations, and a place to come and relax and enjoy the benefits of fresh organic produce. Many of our species are subtropical and grown for their suitability to our climate. They make great alternatives to conventional European vegetables and herbs that don’t always thrive here.

·           Seed Savers

The Seed Savers group meets monthly in our community gardens. They harvest, prepare, store and package seeds which we sell as a fundraiser for Permaculture Noosa. Our organic (and often heritage) seeds are grown in the community gardens or on members’ properties in the region. This is important as they have adapted to our ecoregion and climatic conditions.

·           Monthly Club Nights

(not available until lifting of Covid restrictions)

We have expert, informative, and engaging speakers, demonstrations, supper and socialising. Club Nights are held on the third Thursday of every month at 6.30 pm at the Cooroy Memorial Hall. From 5.45 pm we run our marketplace where you can purchase our seeds, seedlings and other merchandise, and you can bring along your own plants or produce to sell, swap or give away. Club Nights are free for members to attend and $5 for non-members.

·           Monthly E-Newsletter – Permanews

Members receive a monthly emailed newsletter packed with permaculture information, helpful gardening tips and suggestions.

·           Workshops, Demonstrations and Courses

During the year we run various courses and workshops, including our annual Introduction to Permaculture with Tom Kendall. Many of these workshops offer member discounts.

·           Open Gardens

Our monthly Open Gardens are extremely popular and provide a great opportunity to be inspired and learn from other people; see how our hosts handle challenges which many of us face, and experience the many varied interpretations of permaculture techniques. Many of our Open Gardens are only available to our members as well as members of our sister organisations, Yandina Community Gardens and Gympie Permaculture.
