At our last Club Day (June) we had a lovely morning making ‘Seed Bombs’ with Vanessa from the Living Classroom Project. It was such a therapeutic experience, sitting in a circle and rolling compost, clay, seeds and sand into balls and once dried, can be thrown into our gardens. Such fun!
July Club Day!
This month we are excited to bring you a ‘Pruning and Propagation’ workshop! ‘Pruning and Propagation’ is the perfect reflection of the Permaculture Principles of ‘produce no waste’ and ‘small and slow solutions’. Learn how to create new plants from your garden by pruning and propagation
9am: Seed Savers – If you have never joined in before, this is a wonderful chance to learn how to save seeds, process and store them. An ancient practice in a modern world!
10.30am:Pruning and Propagation Workshop – This workshop will be run by Donna, a recent Permaculture Design Course graduate with lots of experience to share. Donna will teach us about plant biology basics and how to create abundance from pruning’s that would otherwise end up in the compost. You’ll be able to take home a few new cuttings for your garden, with all other cuttings being used in the green house for Permaculture Noosa. Cost is $3 (bring along some gardening gloves and drinking water).
11.30am: Harvest Swap – Bring along any excess home grown produce, or even some homemade or home baked goodies, to swap for something else! If you don’t feel you have anything to contribute, your presence is enough. There is always an abundance of produce for everyone to share.
Tea And Coffee: – Available throughout the day for a gold coin donation to Permaculture Noosa.
If you’re new to permaculture, and have questions about the ethics and principles, members will be available to wander through the gardens with you and answer all your permaculture questions!
Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you all there!
