About The Club

Permaculture Noosa was founded in 1994 to encourage and promote permaculture within the Noosa area of the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Our club and permaculture gardens are located in Cooroy, in the Noosa hinterland.

Our Objectives are:

  • To provide a sustainable alternative to ornamental gardens and monoculture, with edible gardens and farm designs; integrating crops and animals plus eco-friendly architecture and renewable energy systems
  • To provide the local community with information and guidance on sustainable living based on Permaculture principles
  • To organise activities to fund the operation of the group; supply newsletters and provide access to plants and seeds
  • To provide practical education with hands-on workshops and field days

We hold monthly Workshop Days on the last Sunday of each month (Check the dates by reading our Permanews newsletter) at the Cooroy Community Gardens – all welcome.

Our free monthly newsletter Permanews is a wonderful and informative resource, outlining our activities for the month, and packed full of interesting information and ideas.

Some of our activities are held exclusively for our members, making membership a very affordable and beneficial investment. Find out more about our membership program.

Each month we hold events such as Open gardens, our Seed Savers group, and from time to time, workshops and excursions. We are custodians of the Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens where we offer practical demonstration of growing sustainable, nutrient-rich organic food. Working bees are held weekly on Sunday mornings, followed by a cuppa and a chat.

Permaculture Noosa holds Workshops and Courses throughout the year. But there are also many other permaculture workshops held in community gardens and on members’ properties. These include courses on permaculture techniques such as composting, building food forests, and special interest courses like cheese making. These can be found on our Events Calendar. As a member of Permaculture Noosa, we actively promote your permaculture business that fits with our ethics, values and vision.
