Permaculture Noosa Monthly Meeting for May 2017
May 18 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PMgold coin donation for non-members
We will have several interesting speakers at the May meeting, including Bruce Molloy of East Bank Edible Garden, Alun Morgan of AcreInsight and Elisabeth Fekonia of Permaculture Realfood. They are all experts in their fields who will inform us well:
Bruce Molloy will talk about Community Gardens (and more..)
Bruce Molloy is an ex Permaculture Noosa Member who has a wealth of experience with community gardens and permaculture related ventures. He will give a presentation on some of the work he has done over the past few years with both Edible Landscapes and Community Solutions. Bruce will talk about some of the pros and ‘many’ cons about running a permi business and give some tips on community gardening and answer any questions. He will also play a video he made about Peregian Veggie Village, which I’m sure everyone will find entertaining. If you would like a preview, here’s a link to the youtube version: ( it’s 10 years old, but Bruce hasn’t changed a bit…. )
Alun Morgan will speak about AcreInsight
Alun Morgan is a new member of Permaculture Noosa who has recently moved to our area from Perth in Western Australia where he was a member of a permaculture group for several years. Alun will deliver a presentation about his drone/landscape measurement work and will introduce his company called AcreInsight.
Elisabeth Fekonia will tell us all there is to know about Broccoli
Elisabeth Fekonia will give a 10 min presentation titled “How to grow the biggest bested broccoli yet!”
- How to get the most out of your garden soil and grow the biggest broccoli you can imagine.
- Some people call them trees and these gorgeous florets that make up the broccoli head is full of goodness for our health.
We are still working on more interesting and thought provoking material for the May 2017 meeting, so watch this space!
Permaculture Noosa monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Doors open at 5.30pm when meals will be available before the meeting. A market takes place where we share surplus home grown produce and plants by giving, exchanging or selling. Entry is a gold coin donation for non-members. The meeting begins at 6.30pm and the night is complete with a “bring a plate” shared supper at 8pm. All welcome.
