January’s meeting – please note the message about the evening meals.
In all meetings this year, we are aiming for more variety of topics covered at the monthly meeting and our January meeting will certainly be that. We shall have our regular section on what to plant this month, as well as a book review of a profoundly important new book out. We will be looking at a slide presentation of a very simple but effective first flush system anyone can adapt to their roof gutters to create far cleaner rainwater coming into your tanks. Plus a humorous look at the older and younger generations and who is to blame for this mess we are in!
Our main segment however will be a panel and small groups discussion about the re-introduction of Pet days/ Permablitz Days / Working bees or whatever the group choses to call them. Along with any suggestions about format etc. It’s a brainstorming exercise so get your thinking caps on!
If any members have any photos from past Pet Days, and are willing to contribute them to a slideshow, please forward them to Wayne at email@example.com
I personally took about two years before attending my first Sunday afternoon working bee and once I had, I thought it was a really fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Lots learnt by me. Was great to watch other people learn stuff, and simply for 20, 30, or 40 people to help one householder so much all in one afternoon. Very rewarding!
So come along.
Unfortunately our caterer has informed us she is unable to prepare the evening meal this month because of her husband’s serious illness. So we are searching for someone else who could temporarily fill in for her. If you have any ideas on a suitable replacement, please let us know ASAP. We will keep you informed of the outcome.
Also, do consider bringing friends or neighbours to our meetings. It would be a shame to forgo our evening meal together as it it has proven a great opportunity for getting to know one another better. It’s how we grow the group and may be inspiring to them as well. See you there.
As always, you will leave the meeting better informed than you were at the beginning!
Permaculture Noosa monthly meetings are usually held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Doors open at 5.30pm. A market takes place where we share surplus home grown produce and plants by giving, exchanging or selling. Entry is a $5 donation for non-members, $3 for members. The Entry donation entitles you to a free raffle ticket and supper. Anyone who has genuine financial difficulties and cannot afford the entry donation will be excused. We will not turn anyone away. The meeting begins at 6.30pm and the night is complete with a “bring a plate” shared supper at 8pm. All welcome.
See you there……
