Open Garden and More! • Morag Gamble’s Property, Crystal Waters 4th March 2017
Permaculture Noosa is happy to present another jaw dropping Open Garden Walk, this time in the world renowned Crystal Waters Eco Village, in Conondale, specifically, the Garden of Morag Gamble, Evan Raymond and their family of 3 children. As you can see below Morag & Evan are doing it all: ‘off grid’, eco home, mortgage free, etc. Check out her blogspot @ http://our-permaculture-life.blogspot.com.au/p/about-our-permaculture-life.html. See below an excerpt from that blog, and get to know this amazing family and all of the community work and teachings they undertake:
“My name is Morag Gamble and I am living and working a permaculture life. I live an ‘Off-the-Grid’ lifestyle in a permaculture village near Maleny in the subtropical part of southeast Queensland, Australia with my husband and 3 young children.
We designed and built our modular eco-home – with much appreciated help from my family. We are mortgage-free and live simply. Our income is derived from permaculture-related activities. We grow a lot of vegetables, herbs and fruit in the polycultural garden-playground surrounding our home. We collect our water, deal with our wastewater on-site and produce most of our own power.
I love this way of living and I love bringing my children up in this environment. They are Nature Kids and they are learning vital skills for resilience, compassion and future problem solving through our ecological unschooling approach.
I am also passionate about how this way of life can make a positive contribution to society and support ecological regeneration”.
It’s a long way to drive, but there’s a bus!!…….
PCN Committee understand that Crystal Waters may seem like a long trip to undertake for a Garden Walk, so we have put together a package that we hope our permaculture members and friends will seize with both hands and join in the fun of a carefree, chilled out trip with fellow members on a coach tour. Since this trip is taking place on the 4th March There isn’t a lot of time to put this together so if you are keen please see below how to book your seat.
So, here is the deal….
We have the choice of a 40 or 60 seater coach. Pick up points will be Ridgewood (depot), Cooroy, Noosa, Eumundi, and Kenilworth. The round trip will cost $20 per seat, which includes your ‘donation’ to the Garden Walk . The day will start at 6.30am leaving from the Coach Depot, then on to Cooroy, then Noosa, and Eumundi and Kenilworth. Pick up points & times will be revealed as soon as we feel we have the ticket sales to fund the trip.
We arrive at Crystal Waters at 8.30am (Just think of the fun everyone has been having on the coach for the past couple of hours) in time to check out the markets, maybe grab some breakfast or have a well earned ‘pit-stop’. At 9.50am we take the coach to Morag & Evans property further up the hill, and have an opportunity to learn even more about sustainability and food production and herbs, salves and so much more. At 11.30am we enjoy tea/coffee and some nibbles before returning to the markets., to do our own thing maybe have lunch then the coach leaves at 1.30pm for the trip home which of course in reverse of the morning trip in.
How to book your seat….
We ask those who want to be a part of this trip to, preferably, pay through bank transfer so that we know we have the numbers. Bank transfer is a much less time consuming for the committee members.
Payment can be made via the following method:
Direct Deposit to Bendigo Bank (ensure you place your name/s in the reference)
Acc Name: Permaculture Noosa Inc No.1 Account
BSB: 633-000 Acc No: 1187-08270
Email firstname.lastname@example.org and inform us of your deposit.
Should we not fill the coach seats we then will cancel the coach and refund everyone who has booked. In that case, everyone to find their own way to Crystal Waters. Our hope in providing a coach is to save on fossil fuel, and have a jolly good time together as a group.
