Permaculture Noosa is a non-profit organisation of people from the Sunshine Coast of Australia, drawn together to develop the dynamic process of permaculture by sharing ideas and resources to create sustainable living environments.

The group is guided by a committee of volunteers.  Members get together every third Thursday of the month at the Cooroy Memorial Hall. At 7.00 pm there is an opportunity for members only to sell produce and plants and borrow from the library, then at 7.30 the public are invited to join us to  listen to speakers, discuss topics of interest, find out what is happening in the area and enjoy  a gold coin supper and a chat.  Permaculture Noosa members also go into schools and set up gardens, conduct open days to demonstrate permaculture to the public and run courses teaching  permaculture design skills.

Permaculture Noosa was established 1988 by Geoff Lawton and a handful of people who answered an ad in the paper. This handful has grown to over 200 members and  Geoff and many other  members  have taken their skills further afield to places all over the world to help empower communities to become sustainable. We also have members who have stayed and have been practising permaculture for years. These people are an incredible resource and are generous with their knowledge to all the new members who embark on the permaculture journey.
