APC 10
July 14th, 2010 . by adminThis year the Australian Permaculture Convergence will be held in Kuranda, 30 ks west of Cairns on the 24th-27th September.
Two companion events will run over the five days
The Festival of Permaculture- Friday 24 and Saturday 25th September
This is a celebration of Permaculture at work in our communities now. Celebrating at the Festival of Permaculture begins with inspiring speakers – leaders and educators to guide us through our current changes and challenges. Every walk of life will find out something new from attending a practical how-to workshop, talking with a visiting business or community group at the Trade Display or attending a presentation or workshop from five session streams.
The Official Convergence runs over 2 full days Sunday 26th and Monday 27th September
This is the traditional space for the movement to get together to discuss Permaculture in depth, improve our skills, share our expertise and explore new interests with like minded peers. We will also discuss issues concerning Permaculture training and the networking required for the movement to maximize its influence and involve Permaculture in initiating powerful change in Australia. By the end of the conference we will have the backbone of a document – a resource for us all to help us manage change.
Our discussions will be more detailed and in depth and will assume you are familiar with the basic principles of Permaculture. This 2 day segment of our 4 day event is aimed at members of the Permaculture community, usually people with a completed Permaculture Design Course(PDC) or recognised equivalent.
Our final evening will feature a traditional PDC Party – so make sure you bring your song, dance, poem or skit.
A highlight of the two-day Convergence will be the Convergence Dinner with local award winning Reggae and Indigenous band Zennith.
